Crude Oil Trains on CSX

April 2013

Since mid-April, CSX has begun running crude oil trains to Philidelphia, PA via the CSX River and Trenton Subdivisions. There have only been two symbols for these trains, numbered K040 and K048. K040 has been bringing interesting power, such as creme and green SD70MACs and Warbonnets.

Crude oil is in high demand. Rail is taking advantage of this, running many trains as many as 100 cars a day.

K408/K418 Getting Foreign Power

March 2013

Since the beginning of March, CSX ethanol train K408 and K418 have been bringing down some interesting power. From a shiny SD60 trio to a whopping 4 SD40/SD60 lash-ups, these trains are a must see on the River Line. Usually the original power gets cut off in Buffalo, but recently the power has stayed on all the way down to the Chemical Coast.

CSX K408 heads south on the CSX River Line with a quartet of 4 foreign SD40-2s.
